Terry Austin, Faculty Advisor, Temple College

Terry Austin is a full-time Faculty Advisor for ɫèAV, where he supports Life Science educators nationwide with course design consultation, digital pedagogy, and student engagement strategies. He is the original creator of Video Tutor, ɫèAV’s interactive learning tool, and authored the first six modules for the Marieb Human Anatomy & Physiology textbook, along with several Disease In Depth assignable video assets for the Bauman Microbiology series in the Mastering platform. His work reflects a passion for making complex scientific content more approachable through thoughtful use of technology. In addition to his work with ɫèAV, Terry has been a professor at Temple College since 2001, teaching Human Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology. He chaired the Biology Department from 2002 to 2012 and pioneered the college’s first fully online A&P course in 2011. Throughout his career, he has been a vocal advocate for integrating educational technology in face-to-face, hybrid, and online classrooms to enhance both teaching and learning. When he's not working with faculty or students, Terry enjoys cooking, spending time with his wife Peggie, and exploring the open road on his 100th Anniversary Harley Davidson Heritage Springer.
