Anatomy & Physiology
ɫèAV® Interactive Labs for Anatomy and Physiology offer instructors a fully customizable and auto-graded wet lab experience that can be tailored to your specific course objectives. Students engage in realistic and thought-provoking simulations aimed at critical thinking through data interpretation assessments. These virtual labs can be assigned as a wet lab replacement, pre-lab preparation, post-lab review, or a make-up lab solution.
Enhance your curriculum by combining ɫèAV Interactive Labs for A&P with PhysioEx, Interactive Physiology (IP) 2.0, and Practice Anatomy Lab (PAL) 4.0, all available in Mastering® A&P.
Want access to more labs? ɫèAV A&P titles also include access to biology and microbiology labs at no additional cost.

A&P 2
Blood Typing
In this virtual lab, students perform three blood typing assays and apply their knowledge of antigens and antibodies to determine a patient's blood type. They set up and observe agglutination reactions and apply their understanding of ABO blood types to predict transfusion reactions between donor and recipient, enhancing their practical knowledge of blood compatibility.
What you need to know (WYNTK) Videos
- Visualizing glycoproteins that determine blood type
- How antibodies function
Experiment
- Blood typing assay for three patients with variability in the blood types assigned
- Focus on techniques used to prevent contamination during the assay and contamination of blood borne pathogens
- Practice interpreting blood type from agglutination reactions
- Practice interpreting a blood type assay when a specific technical mistake is made
Application
- Blood type compatibility: making blood transfusions safe
- Blood type compatibility: matching recipients with donors
